Simon Associés

About us

Founded in 1992, Simon Associés is a business law firm with an established reputation, present in Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Montpellier and Fort-de-France. The firm currently employs almost 100 lawyers and legal experts. Attentive to its clients’ needs and sensitive to their financial imperatives, Simon Associés has developed a comprehensive legal service offering based on a chain of skill centers. The firm’s activity was initially developed in areas that remain its core business: disposals and acquisitions, private equity, banking law and financing, distressed companies, franchises, networks and distribution, in both counsel and litigation. These areas of expertise have led Simon Associés to broaden its expertise with the creation of complementary departments in tax law, real estate law, labor law, international law, information and communication networks law and, more recently, in health law and compliance.

The strength of this firm, which remains on a human scale, stems from several key assets: its teams and its legal expertise for a start, but also its responsiveness and availability, underpinned by thorough knowledge of the business world as well as the practices and power relationships in an ever more competitive economy. These assets underpin the culture of Simon Associés, which, on the basis of qualified procedures and a structured organization, has developed a cross-cutting approach to the prevention of legal and judicial risks. The implementation of actions and tools that factor in the company’s technical, economic, human, legal and operational environment guarantees its clients a reduced level of risk.

A fully-fledged player in the legal world, Simon Associés is a member of numerous organizations in the economic sphere and regularly publishes articles on business news, as well as various electronic newsletters devoted to legal developments in France and internationally.

 An entrepreneurial culture

The corporate strategy always has an economic purpose. Each of the legal players are duty bound to participate in the achievement of this objective, whether it be legal experts within the company or lawyers who are called on to work together as a team.

Simon Associés is sensitive to this specific corporate counsel culture which must offer the company director a vision going beyond legal issues alone. The corporate counsel is competent in their field of intervention and enjoys the confidence of the company director. The corporate counsel must reflect on how they can best bring a competitive advantage to the business. The fact that the company they advise may be a large one does not preclude their participation in the definition and implementation of the corporate strategy alongside the legal department, but it is within SMEs that the lawyer’s strategic input really comes into its own.

Ethics and the quality-based approach

The practice of law has become indispensable in our professional and personal environments. Familiarity itself is not sufficient. Complete understanding is required, through close contact with legal experts that are well-versed in the issues.

The definition of the legal strategy will determine the outcome of a negotiation, litigation or dispute. In this context, the role of the business lawyer is decisive as a counselor, confidant and interpreter of a will, not to mention defender of a position. It is in this spirit that Simon Associés has always plied its trade. This notion of the practice of law and the exercise of the profession of lawyer means defending ethics vis-à-vis clients, fellow lawyers, judges and other players in the economic or judicial life of a company.

These ethics are based on strict compliance with the rules of the professional legal association, respect for the trust demonstrated, loyalty in negotiations and legal proceedings, and transparency of relations. To this end, Simon Associés has founded its working methods on an organization charter concerning its output and operation.

Simon Associés has also adopted a quality approach aimed at giving its clients the full assurance that the services provided respond effectively to their needs as well as to the constraints of carrying out this activity.
